GTA 6 NPC Interactions Go Beyond Red Dead Redemption 2

Rob Nelson is reported to describe an evolved version of the Red Dead Redemption 2 interaction system

Reporting attributes to Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson that the NPC interaction system from Red Dead Redemption 2 returns in Grand Theft Auto VI in an evolved form, taken further than in that game.

In that coverage, NPCs are described as able to react to how the player behaves around them, including lingering, eavesdropping or otherwise acting suspiciously, and to openly threatening conduct.

GTA6Head classifies this as Reported. Rockstar has not published a Newswire breakdown of the interaction system. There is no confirmation that every NPC carries persistent memory, follows a full daily schedule, or tracks the player across sessions, and we do not repeat those claims.

Related reporting on the reactive world and the criminal profile concept sits in the same Reported tier and is tracked on the GTA6Head Extended Look evidence hub.
